Our Care Workers
The quality of our service is dependant
on the quality of our
care staff. In order to ensure the quality of our staff
all care workers with Lomack Health - Domiciliary Care
undergo a rigorous recruitment and vetting procedure and
have to undertake
three days of induction training to the standard of the
Training
Organisation for the Personal Social Services (TOPSS) England,
which ensures that they have an understanding of :-
- Core Values.
- The Nature of Personal Care.
- Basic Care Skills.
- Terms and Conditions of Employment.
- Safe Moving and Handling.
- Current Legislation
- Policies and Procedures
- Health and Safety
- Food Hygiene
- First Aid
- Communications
On successful completion of this induction
training staff are closely
supervised by a senior member of staff and tested by questionnaires
and are expected to
commence
study towards NVQ level 2 in care.
Further in-depth and certificated training
is arranged for:
- Food Hygiene
- First Aid
- Moving and Handling
- Health and Safety
Further specialist training is
arranged for Care Workers caring for
individual Service User groups such as Learning Disabilities,
the terminally ill, those with sensory loss, challenging
behaviour etc.
